Emergency Medical Response Training
Minutes can often mean
the difference between life and death. Employees who have been trained in CPR,
First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can provide life saving
emergency care prior to the arrival of professional responders.
FIRST IN Emergency Response Training instructors have an extensive background
in professional emergency medical services. We emphasize hands-on, scenario
based skills practice in real world settings to maximize the learning
experience. This type of skills practice also allows for the development of
strong team work and communication. In this “real-time” learning environment,
students have the opportunity to apply their skills and adapt to a changing
emergency environment if necessary, unlike structured classroom exercises.
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
FIRST IN Emergency Response Training offers certification options
from Medic First Aid, the Int’l American Heart and Safety Institute
or thru the American Heart Association.
- Medic First Aid/ASHI
Medic First Aid and ASHI
certification programs use an EMS based approach. Students will
establish a core foundation of skills in classroom work, then
use those skills in “real time” scenario-based practice.
FIRST IN Emergency Response Training offers a certification
program for your in-house instructors through Medic First Aid/ASHI
CPR or First Aid Programs.
CPR PRO for the Professional Rescuer is also offered to
firefighters, healthcare providers and other first responders.
- Approved American Heart Association Training Site
FIRST IN Emergency Response Training offers Heart Saver courses
through AHA for the lay responder.
BLS Healthcare Provider Courses are also offered to
firefighters, healthcare providers and other first responders.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
AEDs are found in public environments throughout the United
States. Airlines, fitness centers, retail malls and many business
and corporate organizations have available in the workplace AEDs.
Studies show up to a 50% success rate of survival when AEDs are
deployed within the first few minutes of cardiac arrest where
ventricular fibrillation is indicated. AED training can be combined
with CPR and First Aid Training.
First Aid
Medical emergencies, whether they are an illness or injury, are
inevitable occurrences in the workplace. Trained emergency response
teams can provide basic patient assessment, treatment, continued
evaluation and patient support until professional responders arrive.
First Aid training includes, but is not limited to:
- Severe Bleeding
- Seizures
- Respiratory Distress
- Chest Pain
- Diabetic Episodes
- Shock
- Severe Allergic Reaction
- Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Altered Levels of Consciousness
FIRST IN Emergency Response Training provides basic to advanced
first aid depending on your organizational goals.
Emergency Oxygen
Found in the air we breathe, oxygen is the most essential element
the human body requires in order to live. When serious illness or
injury occurs, the body’s ability to process oxygen can be
compromised.
Medical authorities recommend the use of emergency oxygen during
a medical emergency as there are no significant medical risks
involved. Conditions that could benefit from emergency oxygen
include:
- Serious Bleeding
- Difficulty Breathing
- Chest Pain
- Suspected internal injury
- Seizures, Strokes, Diabetic Episodes
- Cardiac Arrest
- Altered Levels of Consciousness
FIRST IN Emergency Response Training provides initial and annual
certification in the use of Emergency Oxygen.
Bloodborne Pathogens
OSHA has determined that some employees face a significant health
risk as a result of occupational exposure to blood or other
potentially infectious materials.
Recognition of the risk of exposure to disease through contact
with human blood and other potentially infectious material is of
vital importance to individuals who engage in occupational
activities that require such contact.
The OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030) requires
annual training for all individuals who could potentially come in
contact with bloodborne pathogens or other potentially infectious
materials including emergency response team members, firefighters,
healthcare providers, some types of laboratory workers and first
responders.
FIRST IN Emergency Response Training provides initial and annual
certification in Bloodborne Pathogens in the workplace. |
